About Kumbha Sankranti 2025

How Kumbha Sankranti Formed?

The Sun stays in Capricorn for 30 days after that enters into Aquarius. The devotees take a bath in the holy river Ganges and then seek blessings and prayers at the priests situated on the banks. After this, they have all the natural food structures.

Significance of Kumbha Sankranti

Innumerable Sanatani Aquarius people are constitution makers across the country. The form of observance is different, but the basic purpose and reason of the observance is the same. For the common people of West Bengal and Assam, it begins the month of Phalguna, while for the Malayalis, according to the Malayalam date book, this festival is known as “Maas” month.

The Kumbh Mela is the result of the rift between the gods and the demons. The book was kept to hold the Amrit Kalash when it was nominated on the beach. There are various items from inside the sea from Kamadhenu, a magical cow named Halala. Amrit Kalash also came out from the Amrit Kalash. After the arrival of the Kalash, it became a war between the gods and the demons.

Finally, Lord Vishnu took the form of Mohini and flew away with the Amrit Kalash. As they flew high, drops of nectar fell at four places, including what is now known as Iloilo, Haridwar, Masjid and Nashik.

On the auspicious occasion of Kumbh Sankranti, devotees take bath in holy rivers like Ganga, Kaveri, Yamuna, Narmada etc. Devotees visit holy places like Sangam in Haridwar and Kashi in Uttar Pradesh. There people take part in mass bathing, which is believed to purify the body and mind. It is also believed that this helps the seeker attain the last salvation of life.

Kumbh Sankranti is celebrated with great enthusiasm and at the same time, devotees from all over the world are welcomed to the Kumbh Mela, where there is a confluence of various artists.
