About Kanya Sankranti 2025

How Kanya Sankranti Formed?

The day when Lord Sun enters Virgo from Leo is called Kanya Sankranti. According to the Gregorian Calendar, Kanya Sankranti falls in the month of September.

Significance of Kanya Sankranti

On the day of Sankranti, people wake up in Brahma Muhurta, take a bath and freshen up. Then after offering Arghya to the Sun God, they worship Lord Vishnu. Worshipping Lord Vishnu or Lord Shiva on the day of Sankranti gives one the desired result.

Lord Sun is considered as a form of Lord Sri Narayan. On the date, the Lord Sun leaves his zodiac Leo Sign and enters into the Virgo. The change in the zodiac sign of the Sun God is called Sankranti.
