About Bhadra Amavasya 2025

Significance of Bhadra Amavasya

Bhadra Amavasya is coming in the month of August. Bhadra Amavasya has also a prime significance on the day, people donate in the name of ancestors and forefathers to get blessing of theirs and live with prosperity. On the day, people also do “Shradha”, as per our Puran and Upanishad said, our first father on the earth is Lord Vishnu. So, on this day is also good to worship Lord Vishnu and perform other rituals to get the blessings of Sri Vishnu. Amavasya is best for donating anything to the poor, feeding animals like cats, dogs or animals surrounding by your house, serving cow.

Some Rituals Performed on the Bhadra Amavasya Tithi

On the day of Bhadra Amavasya, people also practice and performed some activities like following:

  • Pitru Pujan like Havan, Tarpan, Marjan and Shradha,
  • Bathing in the Ganges River, Triveni Sangam or Haridwar
  • Feeding poor and animals,
  • Feeding Brahmins and donate people or brahmins and also give dakshina to them,
  • Preparing roti or chapati and feeding the cows,
  • Preparing Sattvik food
