Lakshmi Ganesh Pujan on Diwali (दिवाली पर लक्ष्मी गणेश पूजन प्रक्रिया)

On the day of main Diwali, most of the people celebrates this festival with their friends, neighbours, and relatives. People worship Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi in their home and business offices on this day for getting the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh.

Diwali Puja Ingredients

Here I mentioned, how to perform Diwali Puja at your home in a very simple way and the ingredients are available in the houses easily.

If you are doing your puja as your own without Sadhak, you need to required to follow these process like the following:

  • Lakshmi-Ganesh Photo or idols
  • Roli, Moli, Kalawaa, Sindoor, Coconut (Whole),
  • Red clothes, Ashan, Padashan for puja, Chowki, Samidha, Havan Kund, Havan Material or Samagri.
  • 5 betel nuts, cloves, betel leaves,
  • Cow ghee, kalash, Akshat (rice), Gangajal,
  • 7 Cowrie, 7 Gunja,One Gold or Silver Coin
  • Flowers, mango leaves for Kalash and Toran, Kamal Gatte, Morpankh (peacock feathers)
  • Panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey, jaggery in equal quantity mix into in one bowl),
  • 5 any seasonal fruits, Batasha, Sweets,
  • Turmeric, vermillion, incense sticks, kumkum, perfume, lamp, cotton, aarti plate, sandalwood.
  • Tambulam with Dakshinam
  • 5 types of naivedya for example Kheer, Pulao, Paneer Sabji, Pudi, Halwa.
  • You can also offer as your own there is no mandatory to offer only these types of dishes.
  • Preparation for Diwali Puja
  • Before starting Lakshmi puja on Diwali,
  • You need to take a shower properly. Then do “Sankalp”, take some Akshat and water in the palm and tell what is the motivation of the puja in the Sankalp Path.
  • Make rangoli at the place where you make chowki of Goddess Lakshmi.
  • Light the lamp each at the four corners of the post where you are performing puja. After this, keep raw rice at the place where the idol is installed and then place the idols of Lakshmi and Ganesha.
  • During the time, lighting up the other lamps or diyas to display in your main house entrance, balcony, roof or puja areas.
  • Install Kalash as per Puja Vidhi.
  • Keep Lakshmi ji on the right side of Ganesh ji. If possible, place two big stand lamps in front of them in both sides, fill with oil or ghee.
  • On Diwali puja, also placed Kuber Idol or Yantra, Saraswati idol, gold or silver coin, your gold jewelry, some cash, cowrie, gunja in front of Goddess Lakshmi.
  • Chant “Suchi or Shudhya” mantra and do shudhya everywhere. Please refer Suchi Mantra here.
  • Do Ganesh Pujan first, offer flowers, sandal wood paste, roli, moli and kalawas to the Lord Ganesh.
  • Then Offer Dhoop, Deep, Naidevdya, Achmanyam to Lord Ganesh.
  • Offer “Kashyama Yachnam” or apologies for any mistakes done during the puja. When Ganesh Pujan is over,
  • Take some Akshat and flowers at your palm, then invite to the Goddess Lakshmi and offer clean water called “Shudhodyok Water” to the Devi to bathe.
  • Offer Panchamrit Snanam, then clean water again.
  • Offer “Hastho Arghyam” with a spoon. It is a mix of water, gangajal, sandal paste, flowers, perfume.
  • After that offer “Vastram” clothes to the Maha Devi.
  • Then offer goddess, Shringar Samagri such as perfume, bangle, jewelry, kumkum, bindi, perfumed hair oil, comb etc.
  • Offer Ber Leaves + Akshat, Durva + Akshat, Bael leaves, gandh, sandalwood paste, perfume with fragrant flowers.
  • Offer flower garlands to the Goddess Lakshmi.
  • Offer five types of flowers, five types of fruits to the Maha Devi.
  • Offer Dhoop, Deep and incense sticks.
  • Offer Naivedyam. In Naivdedya, you can have sweets, sweet recipes made with dairy products, ksheer etc.
  • After that, offer water for Achmanyam,
  • Offer “Tambulam”.
  • In last, offer “Pushpanjalim” offer flowers to the goddess.
  • Offer “Kshyama Yachnam” finally.
  • Especially in Diwali, Arti not should offer to the Goddess Lakshmi. But if you wanted to do arti, you can do it.
  • Offer Yoni Mudra to Goddess Lakshmi.
Finally, your Puja has been finished or “Puja Sampoornam” Now, after paying obeisance to Mata Rani along with the family members, everyone together accepts Naivedya and celebrate Diwali as well as share all the blessings with them.
