When St Francis Xavier Feast Celebrates?
Every year, on the third of December, the feast of St Francis Xavier is celebrated which marks the death anniversary of the Saint.
This is an annual festival celebrates in Goa.
This annual festival, known as the Feast of St Francis Xavier or Goinchea Saibache Fest, or called the Lord of Goa Festival, is the biggest of all the Christian festivals in Goa.
Who is Francis Xavier?
Francis Xavier was born during 1506 in the Kingdom of Navarre, Spain. Navarre, a region of Spain now divided between Spain and France. His mother was an esteemed heiress, and his father an adviser to King John III. While his brothers entered the military, Francis followed an intellectual path to a college in Paris. There he studied philosophy, and later taught it after earning his master’s degree.
When Francis Xavier Died?
St. Francis Xavier became ill and died on 3rd Dec. in 1552. Francis Xavier became widely noteworthy for his missionary work, both as an organiser and as a pioneer. He reputedly converted more people than anyone else had done since Paul the Supporter.
