Kushmanda Puja
नवरात्रि चतुर्थी तिथि, 2025

Mother Kushmanada is worshiped on Navratri Chaturthi Tithi. But this year it will be on Panchami Tithi. During Adi Shakti Navratri, nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped in different forms for nine days. During this time, devotees observe fast as per their capacity and worship the Goddess. It is said in the scriptures that by worshiping Maa Durga as per the rituals with the entire family for 9 days, there is no shortage of money and grains and Maa Durga's blessings remain on the family. On the fourth day of Navratri, the puja of Mother Kushmanda came. Mother Kushmanda's vehicle is a lion and she is Adishakti has 8 arms. Out of these 7 hands, there are lotus flowers, nectar-filled pot, kamandal and some weapons like bow, arrow, disc and mace. Whereas, in the eighth hand there is a chanting rosary which gives all the achievements and wealth. It is mentioned that the mother is very fond of the sacrifice of "Kumhada" or Ash Gourd some people say Winter Melon, White Pumpkin.

Whereas "Kumhada" is called Kushmand in Sanskrit. Petha is made from it, it looks like a pumpkin but its color is grey. Mother Kushmanda is very wise, she protects our earth. By worshiping Goddess Kushmanda, a human being who owns all the goods, crops, land, vehicles, servants and labor, finally attains the salvation in later part of life.
