Shri Krishna says, Oh Yudhishthir! I am telling you the significance of each Ekadashi. Today I am narrating this Kamika Ekadashi Vrat Katha to you. Once Brahma himself had told Devarshi Narad, I am telling you the same. Naradji had asked Brahmaji that Oh Grandfather! What is the method and significance of Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Shravan Month which is famous by the name of “Kamika Ekadashi”, please tell us.

Then Brahma told to Narad, that the significance of lighting lamps and staying awake on the night of Kamika Ekadashi (कामिका एकादशी) is so great that you cannot even imagine. Even Chitragupt could not imagine it. Those who light a lamp in the temple of God on the night of this Kamika Ekadashi, their ancestors drink nectar in heaven and those who light a lamp of ghee or oil, they go to the Sun world illuminated by a hundred crore lamps.

Who Should do This Ekadashi Fast?
