When Sant Guru Kabir Born?

Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti is celebrated once in a year on the full moon day in the Hindu month Jyeshtha, which is the month of May or June according to the Gregorian calendar. Kabir Jayanti, also known as Kabir Praakat Diwas, is celebrated to commemorate the manifestation of Kabir, a famous poet and mystic saint in India. Worshipers believe that Kabir was born on this day in the year 1398 A.D.

What is the Controversy of Sant Kabir's Birth?

It is still in controversy, how Kabir was born. History say, it is believe that he took birth in a muslim parents, while others insist that he himself appeared on a lotus flower in a lake named as Lahartara. In fact, there is a Kabir Panth on the Lahartara Lake today which reinforces this is have to believed.

Sant Kabir Das, a great devotee of Lord Sri Krishna. Some people say he is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He wrote his poetry in Bhojpuri, Khari Boli and also, he written many books in Urdu, Persian, Hindi, Punjabi, and Marwari.

When Sant Kabir’s Jayanti Celebrates?

It is still a matter of controversy as to how Kabir was born. History says that he was born to Muslim parents, while others insist that he appeared on a lotus flower in a lake called Lahartara(लहरतारा). In fact, today there is a Kabir sect at Lahartara Lake which confirms that it is necessary to believe.

Sant Kabir Das was a great devotee of Lord Shri Krishna. Some people consider him an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He wrote his poems in Bhojpuri, Khari Boli and also, he wrote many books in Urdu, Persian, Hindi, Punjabi and Marwari. He was a gifted man, having knowledge of many languages. His poems were written in a colloquial, regional language known as "Sadhukkadi", which borrowed from various languages.

Why is there controversy over the death of Sant Kabir?

He lived on earth for more than 120 years. Sant Kabir died in January 1518 in Maghar, Uttar Pradesh. Yet there was a dispute between Hindus and Muslims over whether to cremate or bury his body. He was loved by Muslims and Hindus alike, and upon his death a mausoleum and a samadhi were built by Muslims and Hindus respectively.
