About Maha Shivaratri 2025

When Maha Shivaratri Celebrated?

Maha Shivaratri is a Hindu festival celebrated annually between February and March in honor of Lord Shiva. According to the Hindu calendar, the festival falls during the first half of the lunar month of Phalguna month the night begins with darkness in the Krishna Paksha. The festival commemorates the marriage of Shiva and Parvati, and the occasion when Shiva performs his divine dance, called the Tandava.
