Rabindra Nath Tagore Jayanti

Rabindranath Tagore was born on the 7th May of 1861 in Jorasanko Haveli, Calcutta now it is “Kolkata(কলকাতা)”, his father's name was Debendranath Tagore and mother's name was Mata Sarada Devi. His birthday is celebrated every year on 8 May as Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti.

Rabindranath Tagore(রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর) was a novel prize winner which is a great achievement for India even in that time, can you imagine? He was an Indian polymath who worked as a great poet, writer, playwright, philosopher, social reformer, musician, and artist. He reshaped Bengali literature and music as well as Indian art with relevant modernism.

He wrote Gitanjali(गीतांजलि) which is very famous and unique and due to this literature, he got the Nobel Prize. Tagore was known as the World Poet. Tagore began painting and produced works that earned him a place among India's leading contemporary artists.

He was a prominent leader in the Indian independence movement, especially at the time of the partition of Bengal in 1905, and two of his compositions became the national anthem of India, most famously known as "Jana Gana Mana", the national anthem of India currently.
