Baba Garia Puja
Baba Garia Puja is a festival of Tripura, India. It is held for seven days and nights in the month of Boishakh Bisi-Quatl(बोइशाख बिसी-क्वाटल). It is also known by different names like Buisu, Bihu, Biji, Boisabi, Sangren. Garia Puja comes in April every year.
It is the main Festival of Tripuri community
In Garia Puja in Tripuri community, devotees sacrifice chicken for the ritual. All Kokborok (कोकबोरोक) speaking tribes and Halam tribes worship their supreme deity Baba Garia for prosperity and well-being. Jamatiya(जमातिया) tribe celebrates a unique mass festival of Garia Puja at the state level.
Garia Puja a Seven-Day Festival
It is a seven-day festival in honor of the deity Baba Garia held every year on the first day of the Tripuri calendar/Bengali calendar month Boishakh(बोइशाख).
