Significance of Bahuda Yatra

Bahuda Yatra is an important part of Rath Yatra, of Sri Jagannath temple. The term “Bahuda” means return back. In Rath Yatra of lord Jagannath visit to Gundicha temple, the temple is actually Sri Jagannath’s aunt’s house. He come to his aunt’s house for nine days once in a year on the occasion of Ratha Yatra. After 8 days spent in the Gundicha Temple or also called Mausi Maa Temple. He returns on the 9 days with his brother and sister in same chariots to Sri Mandir.

Importance of Bahuda Jatra

On the occasion of Bahuda Jatra, a huge number of devotees come to visit Lord Jagannath on the Chariot. Because in other days it is not easy to visit him inside the temple. When Lord Jagannath on the Chariot. Everyone comes to visit such as Manushya, Devta, Kinnar, Gandharva, Naag everyone comes to have darshan of Lord Jagannath. Because he is the Lord Vishnu himself. By seeing him, the living beings get salvation. All the sins committed are washed away.
